Week#9 Seven Simple Steps for creating CAI

computer-assisted instruction (CAI) is a good tool for teaching and leaning English Language. It is a kind of program which presents information in multimedia such as texts, pictures, graphics, videos, and sounds. Nowadays, there are various lesson present by CAI in World Wide Web. The teachers can retrieve CAI appropriate to their class for teaching.
Moreover, there are many programs which support the teachers to design CAI by themselves for instant Adobe Captivate. However, there are a few thing to consider when the teachers plans to instruct CAI. Carefully selected the details will help your CAI become effectively and become the good tool to help students enhance their English language skills. Here are seven simple steps for creating CAI.

Firstly, I called this step "Preparation". In this step you have to think of the goals and objectives of your lesson. Then make clear decision about the topic. After, you have to collecting the data; contents, pictures, sounds, etc. which is related to you lesson. "Preparation is a very importance step as it is a base to continue to the other process. Think about your are building your house, perfect plan make your house beautiful. It is the same with CAI, Perfect plan lead your CAI more effectively. So that, you have spent enough time for this step into order to set every details appropriately.

Secondly, "Design Instruction Step" in this step you have to analyze, reduce, or add your idea. You have to design about how you will evaluate you CAI and develop it. It is a step that you paint the picture of you CAI when it is complete.

Thirdly, "Flowchart Lesson" step. You have to design the connection between you lesson, step by step. For example, what will be happen if the student gets wrong answers in the exercise? This step also including the designing of button such as Next, Previous, Exit, Submit. etc.  It should interact with consistency response. 

Fourthly, "Create Storyboard". It is the preparation of sequence to presenting information. You can create you stories board on your paper or by using program, such as Power Point Presentation. On your story board will be present follow these contents; Pre-test, Post-test , Lesson, Exercise 1, and Exercise 2.

Fifthly, "Program Lesson".  After got perfect stories board, let's continue make it up by using program such as Multimedia Toolbook or Adobe Captivate. (For me, I use the last one)

Next, Produce Supporting Materials including; user manual for student and teacher. And the last step is Evaluate and revise your CAI
