Week#2 Weblogs enhancing EFL students' English language learning


          Usa Noytim studied about "The potential value of Weblog use on English language learning" in the context of a university in Thailand. A content analysis was used analyse the data that derived from;   
        From this study, the researcher try to find out three questions including; 
1.  What is the extent of students' knowledge and experience of Weblogs?
2.  What are students' perception of use of Weblogs?
3.  What are students' attitudes towards use of Weblogs?

The participants of this research; 




 The finding of the questions; 

 The finding of the first question 

               The majority of students had home Internet access.  Most students had had no prior experience of Weblog use before undertaking the course. More than half of students did not use Weblogs in everyday life. Not many students repeated that they sometimes used Weblogs as tool for communication and keep in touch with other people.

The finding of the second question 

         The students perceived advantage of Weblog use as follows;

1.  They viewed Weblogs as a medium of self-expression online and a toll to enhance English Language development.
2.  Weblogs offered opportunities for writing and reading practice and communicating with other people.
3.  Some students said that they could more freely by using Weblogs.
4.  many students note that Weblogs created social social interaction and good relationships and learning community.


The finding of the third question

         Overall students were positive about Weblogs use and the course. The students liked Weblogs because they believe that Weblogs can help them to developing writing and reading skills. They can creating, publishing, and editing blogs easily. Many students like their free choice of topics in writing Weblogs. However,  some students have limited about their Internet access, digital divide, technological skills. and also had physical problem e.g. sore eyes when reading online. Also they said It take a long time to create Weblogs.
